Waiting Lists for Your Virtual Assistance Business...

What I have done a few times in my seven years of business is closed my doors to new business. We have a lot of clients and our clients would love to use our services more so I stopped bringing on anyone new at certain times. When people e-mailed me , I would tell them we aren’t bringing on clients for the next 4-6 weeks and they are more than welcome to wait for us to have an opening.

What is neat about this is it actually creates more of a demand for my services when people know they can not work with us. It also makes my existing clients feel special because they are on the “inside” as opposed to not having made the cut. I know this because I e-mailed my existing clients to update them and they expressed their excitement over my new focus.

So, don’t be afraid to take control of your business and how you process clients. You’ll love the feeling of being in charge of who you work for and what you do and you’ll avoid the employee/boss relationship. Working with the right clients will also help skyrocket you to an elite list and by limiting the number of people you work with, you’ll create demand therefore allowing you to charge more for your services when you do indeed open your doors again.

Cutting Down Face Time with Potential Clients...

If you’re primarily doing phone calls with new, potential clients, I want to encourage you to cut back on the time spent doing these. Now, you might be wondering why and you may think I am crazy for saying this but it’s the truth. Find a way to eliminate the hour long phone calls, which you aren’t paid for, and replace them with a more efficient way to get your information across.

This could be a manual or handbook that answers all of the potential client’s questions or you could do it as a short audio program. Or, if you aren’t camera shy, you could do a YouTube video. I’ve done one and to view it, you can go to www.howavaworks.com.

So, now that we’ve cut back on your potential client call time, what is the next step? It should be creating a place on your website that explains your ideal client. Describe who you are looking to work for, how you work, what you want out of a client partner and this will also help eliminate those who are not a right fit for you.

Whatever system you put in place for potential clients, make it consistent and weed out those who you are not meant to work with early so you can focus on those you really enjoy.
